Style: On The Fringes.

My memory is almost-permanently hazy and selective, but i clearly remember feeling very intrigued when fashion designer Ituen Basi released her 'break-out' collection that featured fringes in their Ankara glory some years ago and I've been hooked on the 70's trend ever since.
Now the fringes are on their way back (after a brief stint in the summer of 2014 and earlier this year) and since i am yet to get around to taking outfit photos (rolls eyes), i made a set on my Polyvore and also pulled some inspiration off the inter-mother-net on how to wear this fun, flirty-yet-edgy trend..
Shall we?

1- A black party dress like this is all you need, really. Add some minimal heels, some nice lipstick and voila!
2- A pair of drop-earrings with fringes will definitely turn heads, yours (as you wouldn't able to resist flipping your head from side to side. At least, i wouldn't) and every other person's, plus it's a subtle nod to the trend, if the dress idea is too much fringe for you.
3- A purse with fringes? Why not.

4- Aimee Song's Fringe + Lace ensemble? Heaven! Like, i'm most definitely copying this outfit. It's genius.

5- A fringed mini. Feminine, sexy, also provides some fun 'coverage', you know, to cover more of your legs if you want.

New Philosophy: Minimalist Style, Easy Life.

We live and learn. This is one fact that i find myself reflecting over more-and-more these days. 
Living easier is now a life philosophy for me, a soft approach to minimalism, and this is now gradually reflecting in most areas of my life including my home decor (or no-decor, to be very honest, but i recently shed an ENORMOUS amount of unnecessary stuff from my home & closet, that counts, right? lol), social life, style etc. 
I'll talk about this later as i go.
For now, i put together a set on my Polyvore showing my 'new' minimal style-

1. All-white outfit.

Minimal style/life doesn't have to be boring, even if it's not your thing, a few ideas from the philosophy can inspire you.

Jaguar Lagos Fashion Awards 2015: The Nominees.

Hey fashion lovers, the 1st (?) Jaguar sponsored lagos Fashion Awards is here and our collective lives are about to be spiced up!.
Bolaji Animashaun, who is Creative Director for the Jaguar Lagos Fashion Awards, says-

Ikeja City Mall Hosts The 3rd 'Catwalk In ICM' Event.

The Ikeja City Mall, Ikeja, Lagos is hosting its 3rd Annual Catwalk In ICM show on the 6th of August, 2015.
The fashion show will feature collections from brands like Da Viva, Mango, Woodin, Lacoste, Jack & Jones, Eno, Pandora, Mr. Price, Redtag, Markham etc.

• Yippee! Women of the world, get ready for a brand new beauty line from top high-street fashion brand H&M, as they get set to launch their very first full beauty range. The line will have over 700 products including face primers and powders, lip colors and nail polishes. See some of the photos-

• High-fashion meets high-street. Balmain X H&M collaboration line is coming to stores this November, Balmain front man Olivier Rousteing announced at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards last week. Kiss your coins goodbye because the clothes will sure be winners, if what we saw on Olivier himself, Kendall Jenner and Jourdan Dunn at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards is anything to go by. The collab line will include menswear, womenswear, accessories and shoes.

• Nollywood A-lister and super-mom Omotola Jalade Ekeinde along with one of her daughters Meraiah have just been announced as brand ambassadors for Unilever Nigeria's food seasoning brand Knorr. 

The movie star and her daughter, joined by celebrity cooking sensation Chef Fregz, were unveiled as the brand's faces at a recent event organised by the company.
